IPMVP is a protocol developed by the EVO (Efficiency Valuation Organization) that is highly valued, as it allows a rigorous comparison of the energy consumption of a piece of equipment, of a part of an installation; or even an entire building before and after implementing energy efficiency improvement measures (EMMs).
How does it work and what are the advantages of implementing it?
Depending on the client’s needs and budget, the IPMVP protocol proposes 4 measurement and verification options to be applied in energy improvements:
- Option A: The energy efficiency measure is verified in isolation, with only one key parameter in the installation.
- Option B: It is verified in isolation, but measuring all parameters.
- Option C: The complete installation is verified.
- Option D: A simulation of the energy consumption of the entire installation or part of it is carried out.
Among its most outstanding advantages are the reduction of the costs of the energy performance contract, the realistic achievement of the objectives compared to the results or the ease of being able to receive energy efficiency aid; among others.
Wouldn’t it be interesting to be able to verify the savings after investing in energy?
